About Me

I can’t remember a time I didn’t love painting. From doodles of fluffy animals as a child, breathlessly drawn portraits of Bryan Ferry as a teenager (I know), oil seascapes when we lived in Oman to countless watercolours of dogs and horses over the years, painting has always been an important part of my life.

I have been painting for more than 30 years and have never stopped learning, experimenting or developing my style. I use watercolour, quite often with pen detail, and, occasionally, oil. For years I combined my art with a successful career in journalism and, more recently, as a life coach. Heeding my own counsel to do more of what you love, I am now painting more than ever. No commission is ever the same and I am as excited by each new project as I ever was.

I believe my love of animals has helped my work. My former years as a riding instructor and editor of a national equestrian magazine have given me an invaluable knowledge of conformation, different breeds, types of tack etc. I am equally devoted to dogs; I know exactly how important animals are to their owners. I recognise there are many artists around, and I much appreciate being chosen by you to paint your beloved animal. I will always do my very best to ensure that you are delighted with the result.

I have exhibited in the UK, in Europe and the Middle East and my work hangs in homes across the world.

Kate.
